Litigation Support - Extensive experience in criminal tax investigations. Assisted in a variety of disputes in both the civil and criminal areas. Successful in discontinuing criminal investigations and mitigating criminal sentencing exposure.

Public Corruption – Retained as the Forensic Accountant to assist the Special Counsel to the Connecticut Senate Select Committee of Inquiry to conduct a comprehensive investigation relating to the alleged misconduct of Governor John G. Rowland. This engagement culminated in an historic State Supreme Court decision and the resignation of the Governor of the State of Connecticut.

Matrimonial Matters - Facilitate Counsel in determining the location of hidden or undisclosed assets to establish a true net worth. [Mr. Lippe’s most noteworthy accomplishment in this area was his assistance to Counsels representing the former spouse of Mr. Jack Welch, Jr.]

Embezzlements - Numerous investigations documenting embezzlement cases for referral to local and Federal investigators, as well as to insurance companies. Many of these matters have resulted in sworn confessions and restitution.

Monitorships - Retained by investigative agencies to perform monitorship examinations in the following areas:

  • New York City Board of Education School Lunch Program. Along with other investigators, insured that the vendors providing food were no longer conspiring to rig the bidding process. Mr. Lippe was instrumental in developing new guidelines, which resulted in substantial financial savings for the New York City Board of Education.

  • The Hunts Point Produce Market. Along with other investigators, insured that the permit request of a major vendor in the market—who was alleged to have organized crime associations—was appropriate and did not involve any indications of impropriety. The examination uncovered issues of money laundering that were referred to the New York City Department of Investigations.

  • The World Trade Center. Mr. Lippe was assigned the monitorship of the Connecticut corporation sub-contracted to demolish the remaining Trade Towers. This examination resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars being adjusted for improper labor, equipment and material billings.
